Drink of the Season: Butterbeer

“Why don’t we go and have a butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks, it’s a bit cold, isn’t it?”
—Hermione Granger inviting Harry Potter to the Three Broomsticks Inn.

What is Butterbeer? A popular wizarding beverage described as tasting “a little bit like less-sickly butterscotch.”[1] Source

Why am I blogging about it? Because I love Harry Potter and when my daughter Aryanna told me that Butterbeer was available in Starbucks’ Secret Menu, I had to try it! Apparently, it’s what all the kids are raving about!

You can order from Starbucks’ Secret Menu anytime but there is a catch: you have to know the recipe. Lucky for us, my daughter is on top of it!

Butterbeer recipe:

• Crème caramel frappuccino base. Don’t go skim or 2 percent milk, it won’t have the same effect.
• Three pumps of caramel syrup.
• Three pumps of toffee nut syrup.
• Top with caramel drizzle.

Here we go…

It tastes butter-y, toffee-y and a bit like a Zagu drink. Haha! I love it!

Aryanna and I shared a Grande Butterbeer and calories.

Caught in the act! As usual, I’m messaging everyone about my newest drink obsession.

I’m ditching the overly sweet Christmas drinks for Butterbeer.

Try it! Ask your Starbucks barista to make Butterbeer for you and if they don’t know about it, just whip out your magic wand and say “Evanesco“! Hehe
