My friend Paolo Paraiso invited Tom and me to Dillinger’s 1903 Steak & Brew for lunch. We were happy to oblige as we were craving for steaks.

Seeing the facade of the restaurant at the 3rd level of Greenbelt 3 (right beside Red Box), one will be reminded of those bars seen in gangster films with a modern twist.

The resto was named after a notorious American bank robber John Dillinger who was born in 1903.

Customers are welcomed with black, wooden interiors, intimate lights, sleek bar stand, and cozy ambiance.

The bar houses all sorts of alcohol and wines that are purchased locally and internationally.

Dillingers 1903 offers home-cooked American cuisine. Let’s order!

Tom ordered a brewski. Props for serving it in a proper beer glass, chilled and served with a smile by our server Paul.

Our server suggested we try one of their House Specialty, Stuffed Shrimps.

It’s got crabmeat and mozzarella coated fresh medium sized shrimps with marinara sauce dip and served with lemon wedges. The crabmeat is fresh so extra points for that. It’s a good appetizer and 2-3 people can share this dish.

Next, we had Salpicao. Their version of the classic Spanish tapa-cubes of beef tenderloin in a piquant olive oil and garlic based sauce. This is quite spicy so it’s very good for beer chow.

We normally don’t order soup for lunch but according to our waiter, it’s a must-try. We had the Clam Chowder.

This hearty soup is creamy with fresh clams, bacon, potatoes, onion, celery and carrots served in a bread bowl. So good! The bread was crusty and flaky, perfect to tear and dip in the soup. This was Tom’s favorite.

Now for some serious Buffalo Wings. The chicken wings are fried to perfection tossed with their secret buffalo sauce, served with blue cheese dip. I’m not much for chicken wings but I like this. The flavor is quite tangy but the blue cheese dip balances it with its salty and creamy texture.

Now on to the pastas… The Seafood Pasta was OK. The flavor is light and the noodles are aldente.

Their Truffle Pasta was yummy! My daughter will like this since it’s drenched in truffle oil and smothered with cheese.

Time to meat!

I like their Grilled Pork Chops. The chops were grilled tender and juicy served with spicy soy-vinegar sauce. Extra rice is a must!

We also ordered the Ribeye Steak. It’s USDA Black Angus Ribeye grilled to your preference served with a choice of red wine or Bearnaise sauce. The meat was big and can be shared between 2 people. For P750.00, it’s good value.

Jaw-dropping moment

Dillinger’s pièce de résistance: Tomahawk Steak. This beast is 42oz. bone-in Ribeye Steak, seasoned and grilled, served with red wine-demiglace sauce. If you are a steak monster, you could probably finish it in one sitting but this monstrosity of meat is perfect for the whole family or group of friends (3-5 people can share). The price is only P2,995.00 + and we were impressed with the size and flavor!

Hindi lang pang pamilya, pang barangay pa! Haha

Marbling madness

Check out the proportions of Tom’s hand and the Tomahawk Steak!

I lava, lava this cake!

And to cap off our PG-levelz lunch (LOL) we had Dillinger’s Molten Lava Chocolate Cake. It is the only dessert they serve and it’s the only one you’ll need. So yummy! Best paired with brewed coffee.

In case you’re wondering if Tom and I finished the food, we didn’t. We had a lot of leftovers for takeout.

Dillinger’s 1903 Steak & Brew food are impressive both in taste and price. Their dishes such as the USDA Black Angus Rib-Eye Steak and the Grilled Pork Chops are priced reasonably. It’s a good place to have a family lunch or meal sharing with friends.

I’ll go back next time with the whole fam bam and maybe share another Tomahawk Steak. The kids are gonna get a kick seeing the big-ass meat!
