How to Get that Golden Glow

Less makeup, more inner beauty is my “beauty” mantra.

I believe that makeup is a great way to enhance one’s face. When applied right, it can enhance your features, make you look youthful and polished.

Makeup also can give you a healthy-looking, sun-kissed glow that’s perfect for summer.

I love having tanned skin. In fact, for years, I’ve kept my golden glow by swimming and sunbathing. I used to brave the UV’s on the beach until sun spots started appearing on my face. When that happened, I knew that my tanning days were over.

Since then, I’ve embraced my fair skin and focused on having healthy, glowing skin instead. Thanks to makeup, I am still able to get a light bronze color without having to fry under the sun.

Let makeup enhance our faces and let’s continue on developing our inner beauty too because in the end, beauty is skin deep.

NARS Summer beauty:

Summer brings with it a cocktail of warm earth tones and brazen shimmers. Eyes glisten in icy peach and matte apricot, or shine in iridescent orchid and blue. Lips are subtle in a glossy nude beige pink, or bold in matte strawberry red. A delicate seashell pink lends nails a flattering hue for an overall look that’s sizzling, sophisticated and—like so many summery moments—simply unforgettable.

Below, model Ginta Lapina gets pimped up for summer with to NARS.

How to achieve model, Ginta Lapina’s sun-kissed makeup:

Step 1: St. Moritz Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF30/PA+++ was applied to the center of the face with the fingertips and blended outward
Step 2: Set with Eden Loose Powder to create an immaculate complexion. To lend the skin a light bronzed look.
Step 3: Laguna Bronzer was dusted onto the face in the shape of a ‘3’, starting at the forehead, swept on to the cheek, and then along the jawline.
Step 4: The apples of the cheeks were warmed with Liberté Blush and the face further defined by softly dusting Taos Blush along the hairline.
A mixture of the silver and icy peach shades of Ramatuelle Trio Eyeshadow were brushed onto the lid and blended up into the crease.
Step 5: The apricot shade of the Trio was added in to the crease, with the silver shade swept along the lower lash line.
Step 6: The upper and lower lids were lined with Via Veneto Larger Than Life® Long-Wear Eyeliner.
Step 7: After curling the lashes with an eyelash curler, two coats of Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara were brushed on to the lashes.
Step 8: Finally, the lips were lined and filled with Borneo Lip Liner Pencil—blending with a finger to soften the color. Moscow Pure Matte Lipstick was applied, then topped with Risky Business Lip Gloss for shine.
